Conditionals and Converses

Conditional#1-If there is a mouse, then there is cheese in the house

Converse#1-If there is cheese in the house, then there is a mouse(false because cheese doesn’t really cause mice to appear)

Conditional#2-If I play a video game, then the tv is on

Converse#2-If the tv is on, then I’m playing video games(false because sometimes I don’t need the tv to play video games)

Conditionals#3-If my phone is on, then i’m searching up or looking at something

Converse#3-If I’m searching up or looking at something, then I’m on my phone.(true because I’m always searching up or looking at something on my phone)

  1. The converse of a true conditional is not necessarily true because there are so many other options for the converse. There are other things that can make the converse true.
